Description POSITION SUMMARY Ontario Shores is currently seeking a Social Worker, reporting to the Clinical Manager for the Traumatic Stress Clinic, (TSC), within the Outpatient service area. The successful candidate will be a clinician with sound knowledge of clinical work in the area of mental health and addiction issues in the area of treating trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
Responsibilities include: psychosocial assessment and consultation; individual psychotherapy; group psychotherapy; psycho-education; liaison with community resources; collaboration with all team member; active involvement as a member of an interdisciplinary team. Client service will be through traditional in person methodology as well as in a virtual environment using Telemedicine.
Qualifications Required And Preferred
- A Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Social Work.
- The successful candidate must be registered with the College of Social Workers, in good standing.
- Training and experience using Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) with individuals with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
- 3-5 years of recent Social Worker, experience in a mental health facility or service, experience in outpatient settings is preferred.
- Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups.
- Understanding and application of Best Practice treatments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the (Social Workers standards of practice),.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mental Health, and relevant policies and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required.
- Current CPR HCP is required
- The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently.
- The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
- The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno racial and cultural backgrounds and proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
- Knowledge and familiarity working in a virtual therapeutic environment.
- Must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position
