Key Qualifications:
- Registered in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
- MoCA training certification, or willingness to obtain within 1 month of hire
- Has relevant experience managing acute adult patients who have a variety of conditions, particularly amputations, neurological, medical, and surgical adult populations
- Demonstrates the ability to work on a dynamic, interdisciplinary team including families and community partners
- Has effective verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrates excellent organizational skills and is able to be self-directed in a fast-paced, flexible working environment, balancing the needs of two unique teams
- Has previous experience and ability to work effectively and collaboratively with Occupational Therapist Assistants
- Seating and positioning and wound care experience are considered assets
Position Summary:
- Assumes new caseloads comfortably and competently, with a strong focus on occupational performance issues in the acute patient
- Is an active member of the interdisciplinary team
- Provides Occupational Therapy services in keeping with the College guidelines and Essential Competencies
- Provide clinical teaching, mentoring and/or supervision for Occupational Therapy students; engaging with inter-professional education experiences with students of all health disciplines.
- Supervises support personnel in accordance with College guidelines
- Participates in Professional Practice meetings as required
- Supervises students and volunteers as appropriate
- Participates actively in program planning and continuous quality improvement, thereby contributing to the overall vision/mandate of Occupational Therapy services at Trillium Health Partners Provides workload measurement data as per MOH requirements
