Role description:

Arcadis is searching for an individual to join our Edmonton architectural design controls team. The position of Design Consultant – Architectural Controls will include working on design approvals for a broad range of projects and administering them on our Archcontrol.com web platform as well as other platforms such as LotWorks. Based in Edmonton, this is a full-time or partial hours position that offers flexibility within a hybrid work environment.

Role accountabilities:

  • Creation of Design Guidelines including maps, and house style graphics.
  • Reviewing of house applications in relation to the guidelines and standards of the development within a web-based platform.
  • Correspondence with builders and some homeowners.
  • Physical site inspections on the exterior of homes (homes and landscapes).
  • Prepare inspection reports.
  • Get involved in other projects in the office on an as-required basis

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma in Architectural Technology or Landscape Architectural Technology or a related discipline – related industry experience would be considered
  • Strong interest in house design and land development
  • Experience with house exterior design would be an asset
  • Good design sense with creative problem-solving skills and a high attention to detail
  • Strong computer skills in MS office, Adobe, etc. and web-based applications – proficiency in CAD is an asset, but not essential
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills and interest in dealing with a diverse range of clients, including homebuilders and homeowners
  • Good organizational and time management skills

The salary range for this position is $65,000-70,000 per year. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
