About the role

Position Overview Calian is seeking bilingual Avionics Course Instructors for our client, the Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Training and Engineering. Successful candidates will be required to work onsite in Borden, ON.

Responsibilities

  • Must provide curriculum for all training requirements
  • Perform instructional duties in accordance with approved instructional techniques, while ensuring the safety and security of personnel and equipment
  • Prepare, maintain, and revise lesson plans and student study manuals in accordance with current TPs and approved guidelines
  • Design and develop activities
  • Assist the course director in advising students on their performance and proctoring exams
  • Create entries in the student registry to prepare course reports, advising, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications Civilian-Trained Personnel: (A or B)

  • A: Graduation from an Avionics Maintenance Technician program offered by a technical institute that is recognized by the Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA) in the delivery of one or several accredited programs and three (3) years of experience as an Avionics Maintenance Technician in an aircraft maintenance organization; or
  • B: Graduation from a program offered by a technical institute that is recognized by Transport Canada (TC) as an Approved Training Organization (ATO) and three (3) years of experience as a registered Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (E rating) in an aircraft maintenance organization; and
  • At least one (1) year of instructional experience in an adult education environment, plus one (1) year of instructional experience, instructional support or a mixture of instructional experience and instructional support experience in an adult education environment. Instructional experience is defined as instructional or teaching duties or tasks within a classroom, lab, or other similar environment. Instructional support experience is defined as duties or tasks in support of instruction including course standards, course development and student evaluation

Canadian Forces-Trained Personnel:

  • Qualified AVS (or QL 5 trade level for pre-1996 equivalent); and
  • At least one (1) year of instructional experience in an adult education environment, plus one (1) year of instructional experience, instructional support or a mixture of instructional experience and instructional support experience in an adult education environment. Instructional experience is defined as instructional or teaching duties or tasks within a classroom, lab, or other similar environment. Instructional support experience is defined as duties or tasks in support of instruction including course standards, course development and student evaluation

Additional Requirements

  • You are able to deliver courses in both official languages
  • You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Secret level

Description du poste

Calian est à la recherche d’instructeurs ou instructrices bilingues en avionique pour son client, l’École de formation et d’ingénierie aérospatiale des Forces canadiennes. Les personnes retenues devront travailler sur place à la BFC Borden, en Ontario.

Dans ce rôle, vous assurerez la prestation de formations techniques en avionique, en plus de contribuer à la conception, à la révision et à la mise à jour des contenus pédagogiques.

Responsabilités

  • Fournir le programme de formation pour l’ensemble des besoins pédagogiques en avionique.
  • Dispenser les cours en respectant les techniques d’enseignement approuvées, tout en assurant la sécurité du personnel et du matériel.
  • Préparer, maintenir à jour et réviser les plans de leçon ainsi que les guides d’étude des apprenants, selon les plans de formation (TP) et les directives en vigueur.
  • Concevoir et développer des activités d’apprentissage.
  • Appuyer la direction de cours dans l’encadrement des apprenants et la surveillance des examens.
  • Gérer les dossiers des apprenants dans le registre (rapports, suivi, etc.).
  • Effectuer toute autre tâche connexe au besoin.

Profil recherché

Personnel formé dans le secteur civil (option A ou B)

Option A :

  • Diplôme d’un programme de technicien en maintenance avionique offert par un établissement technique reconnu par le Conseil canadien de l’aviation et de l’aérospatiale (CCAA),
  • Trois (3) ans d’expérience à titre de technicien en maintenance avionique dans un organisme de maintenance aéronautique.

OU

Option B :

  • Diplôme d’un programme reconnu par Transports Canada comme organisme de formation agréé (ATO),
  • Trois (3) ans d’expérience à titre d’ingénieur en maintenance d’aéronefs enregistré (catégorie E) dans un organisme de maintenance,

ET dans les deux cas :

  • Minimum d’un (1) an d’expérience d’enseignement dans un environnement de formation pour adultes,
  • Plus un (1) an supplémentaire d’expérience en enseignement, en soutien à l’enseignement, ou une combinaison des deux.

Personnel formé dans les Forces armées canadiennes

  • Qualification AVS (ou niveau QL 5 pour les équivalents avant 1996),
  • Minimum d’un (1) an d’expérience d’enseignement dans un environnement de formation pour adultes,
  • Plus un (1) an supplémentaire d’expérience en enseignement, en soutien à l’enseignement, ou une combinaison des deux.

Exigences supplémentaires

  • Capacité à offrir la formation dans les deux langues officielles (français et anglais).
  • Capacité d’obtenir une cote de sécurité de niveau Secret du gouvernement.
