About the role
SUMMARY
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, this position is responsible for safely and efficiently maintaining all Production related equipment in the Concord Aluminum facility.
Pay Rate: $47.65/hr
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Respond to equipment breakdowns, safely and efficiently
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance of all plant equipment, aiming to achieve a target of zero unplanned downtime, and take ownership in further development of a PM program
- Maintain equipment utilized in the Maintenance shop
- Communicate to Production Manager or designate, concerns which may affect operational objectives
- Maintain cleanliness of the Maintenance shop and aim towards a "6S" standard of housekeeping
- Pickup or deliver machine parts or maintenance supplies as required
- Operate equipment and maintenance machinery following all safety procedures
- Work closely with Process Engineering to increase equipment uptime
- Attend all pertinent workshops or assigned training sessions as required
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, as applicable
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager
- Comply with all company regulations and SOP not subjected and without compromise safety
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum Grade 12 level of education
- Must have a Millwright license certification
- Welding Certification would be an asset
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Manufacturing environment
- Experience working with Engineering drawings and close tolerances
- Competent in turning, milling and drilling operations
- Experience with Roll Forming Mills, Downpipe machines and Punch presses would be an asset
- Well versed in Electrical, mechanical Safety procedures (Lock Out - Tag Out)
- Experience working with vendors/suppliers to service equipment/parts
- Ability to perform installations/replacement of equipment and components
- Strong documentation abilities
- Knowledge of Occupational H&S Act and ability to supervise employees and sub-contractors
- May be required to work alternate shifts
- May be required to provide "on call" support
- Ability to work flex hours if required in order to minimize unscheduled downtime.
