The Senior Pricing Manager is accountable for developing, executing, and continuously optimizing the organization’s pricing strategy. This role ensures that pricing practices are aligned with market conditions, organizational profitability targets, and overall risk appetite. The role will play a key role in driving strategic pricing decisions through rigorous market analysis, collaboration across functions, and ongoing model refinement.

MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and lead the pricing strategy, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, financial outcomes, market dynamics and risk tolerance.
  • Drive alignment between pricing strategies and other business activities such as credit assessment, compensation programs and business plans.
  • Analyze competitive intelligence, operational metrics, industry trends, and market data to inform pricing decisions and identify opportunities for strategic adjustments.
  • Prepare regular reports, including dashboards and other data visualization tools to track the profitability and other key performance indicators related to pricing and profitability.
  • Ensure integration of key factors, including funding costs, consumer demand, and risk exposures into pricing framework.
  • Support new product development by developing pricing models, ensuring that margin is optimized and ensuring pricing in consistent between various product lines.
  • Refine and maintain pricing models, incorporating feedback from internal stakeholders and ensuring that margin is preserved across products and client segments.
  • Partner closely with Sales, Marketing, Treasury, Operations, and Risk teams to align strategies with Product plans and profitability goals.

Skills And Experience Required

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field. Related experience will also be considered. Post-graduate degree or other related designations e.g. CFA, Financial Risk Manager (FRM) an asset.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience within a regulated financial institution
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending practices, pricing strategies, and risk management techniques.
  • Strong communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to understand and translate complex technical issues into business impact.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team having a “hands on” approach as well as appreciate diversity of thought and opinions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into actionable insights and recommendations.
