The Role
We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join our team full-time. This is an in-office role based in Toronto, ON. You will be responsible for managing core financial operations and supporting accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with a dynamic healthcare company and have a direct impact on our success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
- Prepare and review journal entries using QuickBooks
- Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet items
- Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
- Conduct month-end and year-end closings, including accruals and reporting
- Process accurate and timely payroll for employees
- Maintain and manage fixed asset records
- Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and profit & loss reports
- Support external accountants during audits and tax filings
- Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for financial reporting and communication
- Ensure precision, efficiency, and timely execution across all accounting tasks
Requirements
- Minimum 3–5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks
- Strong understanding of AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel is a must)
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience in a healthcare company is an asset
- CPA designation (or working toward it) is an asset
