The Role

We are seeking a Senior Bookkeeper to join our team full-time. This is an in-office role based in Toronto, ON. You will be responsible for managing core financial operations and supporting accounting processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow with a dynamic healthcare company and have a direct impact on our success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
  • Prepare and review journal entries using QuickBooks
  • Perform detailed reconciliations of bank accounts and balance sheet items
  • Oversee Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
  • Conduct month-end and year-end closings, including accruals and reporting
  • Process accurate and timely payroll for employees
  • Maintain and manage fixed asset records
  • Prepare financial statements such as balance sheets and profit & loss reports
  • Support external accountants during audits and tax filings
  • Use Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for financial reporting and communication
  • Ensure precision, efficiency, and timely execution across all accounting tasks

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks
  • Strong understanding of AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel is a must)
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Experience in a healthcare company is an asset
  • CPA designation (or working toward it) is an asset
