The Central Island Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Program (CICAPP) has an opening for a full-time Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to provide input and support for the development of several new components to the program including:
- Telepsychiatry Outreach to underserviced areas of Vancouver Island
- Consultation to the Pediatric Ambulatory Care Service at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital (NRGH)
- Mental Health Day Program for children
- Early Psychosis Intervention Program
Additional duties will include consultation/liaison for admitted children and youth at NRGH, shared with the one other Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. There may be consultation opportunities with the local Child and Youth Mental Health Team operated by the Ministry for Child and Family Development.
As Island Health is part of the UBC Faculty of Medicine Island Medical Program there is opportunity for training of medical students and residents and applying for a clinical appointment is expected.
Participation in research is strongly encouraged and facilitated by Island Health.
