A Tactical Security Guard will act as the first-line representative to all staff, customers, and clients. A major part of the role involves deterring and protecting the retail brand and staff.

Duties:

• Responsible for the protection of people, property, facilities, and information
• Maintain surveillance of surrounding area and report suspicious activity
• Strong ability to de-escalate situations and be able to handle individuals that need to be removed from the property
• Perform detailed and diligent patrols
• Ability to handle emergency alarms in a quick manner (e.g., Fire Alarms, etc)
• Observe and report daily activities and irregularities to appropriate personnel
• Ensure that all safety and emergency procedures are followed
• Work with local police service
• Monitor CCTV Cameras
• Draft reports

Skills Required:

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills while being alert and detail oriented
• Ability to exercise vigilance and multitask is required (Ability to prioritize, remain calm and multi-task under pressure in a dynamic environment)
• Ability to de-escalate
• Proficient in using technology
• Experience in proper search techniques.
• Ability to effectively generate all relevant shift reports and distribute in a timely manner
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English

The Ideal Candidate:

• Must hold and maintain valid applicable Security Guard License and First Aid & CPR Certification
• Have studied/completed Police Foundation Course
• 1-year of Security experience is preferred
• Physical presence suitable to work independently
• Knowledge of the trespass to property act and Criminal Code Sec. 494
• Crisis management / Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification is preferred
