Summing it up

The maintenance manager is responsible to overseeing the upkeep, repair and efficient operation of all physical assets, including guest rooms, public areas, recreational facilities and back-of-house systems. This role ensures that all maintenance activities align with safety standards, brand quality expectations and guest satisfaction goals. The manager leads a team of technicians and contractors, coordinates preventive maintenance schedules, manages budgets and inventory and responds promptly to urgent repair needs. Strong leadership, technical expertise and a commitment to maintaining a pristine and functional environment are essential for success in this role.

What you'll be doing

• Meet and exceed guest expectations by ensuring department provides outstanding service and teamwork.
• Communicate effectively the departmental daily, weekly and monthly objectives to the team and recognize achievements.
• Lead, train and grow the culture within the maintenance department, showing support to the team as everyone achieves the quality standards in completion of the daily tasks.
• Manage the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance team.
• Create a bi-weekly maintenance schedule using the budgeted labor amounts for the period.
• Operate the maintenance department in accordance with policies, procedures, annual plans and operating budget.
• Ensure maintenance deep cleaning project tracking & billing is in place.
• General maintenance (i.e., Changing light bulbs, drywall repairs etc.).
• Maintain grounds, vacation homes and buildings according to TKHR policy as well as the Strata Services and groundskeeping contract.
• Coordinate refurbishment deliveries with maintenance and front desk.
• Execute all tasks we are contracted to do for the Strata.

Who you are

• Valid Driver’s License.
• First Aid, Pool Operator and WHMIS certified.
• Proficient in Word, Outlook and Excel.
• Attention to detail.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Landscaping experience.
• Mechanical skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and verbal communication.
• A team player and dynamic leader.
• A service driven individual dedicated to the guest experience and well-maintained properties.
• An individual with proven handyman and maintenance experience.
• Accepts ownership of organizational goals by exploring different opportunities to add value to the company.
• Ability to work with little supervision and maintain high level of performance.
• Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry electrical systems, etc.
• Interact effectively (i.e., remain positive even when under pressure) with guests, associates, vendors and all levels of management.
