About the role

Job Description The Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) is inviting applications for the position of Site Medical Lead, Extended Hours Primary Care (EHPC), Winnipeg West.

Responsible to the Regional Lead – EHPC and working collaboratively with all EHPC Site Medical Leads, the EHPC Site Medical Lead is responsible for strategic medical management activities which contributes to the performance of the EHPCs and promotes high quality patient care.

The EHPC Site Medical Lead works closely with site administration, site and community medical leadership and Medical Staff to create a patient-focused and efficient primary health care system.

The EHPC Site Medical Lead is recognized as a member of regional and site leadership and will be involved in planning and to support overall system improvements to integrate and coordinate primary care services with both acute care facilities and community facilities.

The EHPC Site Medical Lead is responsible for ensuring models and standards of care are communicated to all medical staff in any EHPC site at which the Site Medical Lead works.

Qualifications

  • A medical practitioner qualified to practice Family Medicine in the Province of Manitoba and in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba
  • Certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CCFP)
  • Eligible for a Medical Staff appointment with the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority

Experience

  • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in management and leadership in medical and healthcare administration is preferred
  • Ability to work in a complex environment that includes working with the various programs and services that connect with the EHPC
