Responsibilities & Accountabilities (but are not limited to):

As Health Promotion Program Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in implementing and delivering programs and initiatives that support Liver Canada’s mission. Your work will ensure our health education, outreach, and support programs reach communities effectively and make a measurable impact.

Program Implementation & Coordination

  • Coordinate and deliver health promotion programs and activities (virtual and in-person) across Alberta and nationally as needed.
  • Facilitate workshops, webinars, and community sessions to educate diverse audiences on liver health topics.
  • Manage program logistics, including scheduling, participant communication, technology setup, and resource preparation.
  • Adapt and localize program materials for different communities, ensuring cultural relevance and inclusivity.
  • Track participation, collect feedback, and evaluate program effectiveness to inform improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of program activities and report on outcomes and impact.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless program delivery

Community Engagement

  • Represent Liver Canada at community events, health fairs, virtual meetings, and stakeholder gatherings.
  • Build relationships with local partners, community organizations, and health networks to expand reach and engagement.
  • Assist with outreach and recruitment efforts to increase participation in programs.

Administrative Support

  • Track program budgets, monitor expenditures, and prepare financial summaries for internal review and reporting.
  • Assist in developing and managing project plans, timelines, and deliverables to ensure programs stay on scope and schedule.
  • Maintain detailed records of program activities, outputs, and outcomes for reporting and evaluation purposes.
  • Prepare program reports, metrics, and updates for leadership, funders, and stakeholders.
  • Schedule and coordinate program-related meetings, prepare agendas, document meeting notes, and track action items.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of educational and promotional materials tied to program activities.
  • Contribute to collaborative team projects and provide administrative support to ensure seamless program implementation.

Education and Experience – REQUIRED

  • At least one (1) year of education or work experience in a related field such as Public Health, Health Promotion, Community Health, Education, Social Work, or another health-focused discipline
  • Experienced in coordinating and implementing programs, particularly in health, education, or community sectors
  • Passionate about health equity, community engagement, and creating inclusive support spaces
  • Confident facilitator and presenter, able to engage diverse audiences effectively
  • Highly organized, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage logistics and deadlines
  • Innovative, curious, and eager to explore new technologies—including AI tools—to improve program delivery and engagement
  • Open-minded and adaptable, with a growth mindset and willingness to learn and try new approaches
  • Creative problem-solver with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment
  • Proficient with digital tools (e.g. Microsoft Office, Zoom, email systems, basic CRM data entry) and open to learning emerging technologies to support efficiency and collaboration

  • Extended Summer Hours – 4 extended long weekends (Friday – Monday) from Victoria day to Labour day
  • 12 sick/personal days per year (not bankable)
  • Week between Christmas and New Year’s Office Closure: paid days off
  • In additional to statutory and provincial holidays, paid days off for Easter Monday, Remembrance Day and National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
