About the role

Join Our Team as a CAD/ GIS Topographical Data Analyst

Are you an experienced geomatics professional with a passion for innovation, quality, and leading edge technology? Inline Group Inc. is seeking a CAD/ GIS Topographical Data Analyst to join our growing Operations team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with an exceptional management team and within a supportive and collaborative company culture. Come join our team and experience the difference.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Topographical Data Processing – You’ll work with UAV, GPS, scanned, and other survey datasets to produce accurate and insightful topographical outputs. Using tools like Trimble Business Center (TBC), Global Mapper, Minescape (or Civil 3D Equivalent), and ArcGIS, you’ll classify point clouds, extract features, and organize data for downstream use in CAD, GIS, and project analysis.

Volumetrics & Survey Analysis – Perform volumetric calculations, reconcile quantities with truck tonnage records, and support load factor assessments. You’ll help drive accurate, data-based decisions on material movement and project tracking in mining and civil environments.

Workflow Innovation – You’ll actively contribute to improving existing workflows by leveraging current technologies such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and Power Automate. Your curiosity and creativity will help bring efficiency and value to data processing routines and client reporting.

Multi-Source Data Integration – Work across multiple types of survey data, including UAV photogrammetry, terrestrial scanning, and GPS field observations. Your experience with data validation will help identify outliers or inconsistencies before final outputs are delivered.

Quality and Compliance – Maintain structured, audit-ready data environments and adhere to best practices for file management, reporting, and client deliverables. Familiarity with mining site workflows is a plus, but not required. Your attention to detail and critical thinking will help keep a high level of quality.

Inline Group Inc. is a geotechnical engineering, materials testing, and survey firm with operations across Canada. Since 2012, Inline has provided industrial and infrastructure clients with a value proposition that encompasses the best of both worlds – the competitiveness and flexibility of a smaller firm, but the processes, expertise, and services of a larger firm, derived from years of executing on Canada’s largest projects.

Inline’s engineering group encompasses Geotechnical Engineers that support a broad range of industrial, municipal, transportation, and land development projects. We dually provide surveying and materials testing, which includes a fleet of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) and 3D scanners, and six material testing labs - a CCIL lab in Edmonton, and five mobile labs. It is the combination of our services that provide our clients with a one stop shop solution.

Our core values – Productive and Hardworking, Personable, Humble, Professional, and Adaptable – are represented every day by our 100+ team members. We have grown with these values, hire with these values, and our clients have come to expect, and appreciate, our commitment to these values.
