We are seeking a Quality Control Inspector (QCI) to support our pipeline and facility construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring all work complies with project specifications, regulatory codes, and internal quality standards. This role requires strong technical knowledge of welding, materials, and non-destructive examination (NDE), along with the ability to communicate effectively with field crews, the Quality Control Manager (QCM), and client representatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate daily with the QCM, site Superintendent, and Owner’s Inspector.
  • Notify and coordinate all hold points and required inspections with the Owner’s Inspector.
  • Maintain and organize quality documentation in the project Job File.
  • Forward completed Job Files, drawings, and radiographs to the QCM.
  • Verify all project materials (including Owner-supplied) meet design and specification requirements.
  • Review welding procedures with welders and ensure full compliance.
  • Verify welder qualifications; maintain Welder and Continuity Logs.
  • Confirm NDE technician qualifications; provide instruction and verify NDE results and documentation.
  • Maintain radiographic film, reports, and testing records.
  • Ensure proper execution and documentation of PWHT and pressure testing.
  • Conduct final piping system inspections and ensure documentation is complete.
  • Verify that “As-Built” drawings include all changes and have Owner’s approval.
  • Ensure all welding is performed per approved procedures and applicable codes.
  • Visually inspect all welds on both pipeline and facility projects.
  • Ensure proper handling and condition of welding consumables and inspection equipment.
  • Verify calibration status of gauges and devices; identify any requiring recalibration or repair.
  • Participate in identification, documentation, and resolution of non-conformities.
  • Conduct and document inspections per company quality procedures.
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of the Quality Management System.

Qualifications

  • CWB Level 1 or 2 Weld Inspector Certification (required)
  • Experience in pipeline and facility construction QC (required)
  • Proficient in Spoolfab drafting software
  • Strong understanding of welding procedures, material specifications, and inspection standards
  • Ability to interpret and apply client specifications and regulatory codes
  • Experience conducting welder qualification testing and welding parameters
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote project sites as needed
