Wage Schedule: $32.320 - $37.260 per hour

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Manager, Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician will be an integral member of the Pharmacy team and will be accountable for the technical aspects of drug distribution. The Pharmacy Technician will work to ensure patient safety and for the accuracy, quality, integrity and timeliness of pharmaceutical product and release.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Registration with the Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPHT);
-
Graduate of a CCAPP (Canadian Council for Accreditation of Pharmacy Programs) Accredited Pharmacy Technician Education Program and within 6 months of registering with OCP;

Knowledge of inpatient pharmacy dispensing processes- traditional and unit dose;
-
Knowledge of pharmacy automation including experience with unit dose packaging and automated dispensing cabinets preferred;

Demonstrated accuracy, organizational skills, problem-solving and multi-tasking skills;
-
Proven effective verbal and written communication;
-
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment;

Computer skills related to Microsoft Office including Word and Excel are preferred;

Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork and Joy;

Must have a satisfactory performance record;

Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff safety, patient safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
