Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site position for a Clinical Nurse Specialist based at Central City Lodge in Vancouver, BC. The schedule is Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:00 (1.0 FTE).
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be responsible for providing specialized care and expertise to patients/ residents and families, acting as a consultant to other nursing staff, and collaborating with healthcare professionals. Provides leadership to enhance resident outcomes and quality of care by advancing nursing practice within the area of specialty. Utilizes advanced clinical knowledge and evidence-based practices to drive improvements. Offers professional oversight and guidance to Clinical Nurse Educators (CNEs) and Clinical Resource Nurses (CRNs), helping to establish educational priorities and contributing to the evaluation of clinical performance.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience
- Masters’ degree in Nursing.
- A valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in British Columbia
- Five years of Nursing experience with three years of recent, related experience in a clinical area relevant to the area of specialty.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate clinical practice programs.
- Skilled in conducting holistic patient/family assessments and planning, implementing, and evaluating care for complex cases.
- Guides interdisciplinary team members in care planning.
- Effective consultant for both individuals and groups.
- Capable of conceptualizing research questions and collaborating with researchers.
- Role models expert nursing practice.
- Supports the development of professional and leadership skills among nursing staff.
- Able to synthesize and apply research findings in clinical practice.
- Presents clinical and research work in a scholarly manner.
- Prepared to affiliate with a university school.
