Job Description
The Transaction Control & Reconciliation team is responsible for two critical areas of operational oversight. First, the team ensures the integrity and accuracy of CPP Investments’ accounting book of record and financing systems by performing comprehensive reconciliations against custodians, prime brokers, and global banking partners. Second, the team facilitates the timely and secure execution of external wire payments, including the setup and governance of standard settlement instructions and the execution of verification protocols such as counterparty call-backs.
As a Manager, Transaction Control and Reconciliations, Investment Operations, you will lead a team responsible for maintaining operational controls, mitigating risk, and supporting enterprise-wide financial integrity. This role ensures that operational processes align with internal policies and service-level standards, while driving continuous process improvements, team development, and cross-functional collaboration across Operations, Technology, and Investment teams.
Accountabilities:

Oversee daily cash and position reconciliations: Ensure accurate comparison between the internal book of record and external data from custodians, prime brokers, and banking partners to maintain financial integrity and enable timely issue resolution.

Lead the execution and governance of external wire payments: Manage the end-to-end process of initiating, verifying, and settling outbound fund transfers, including setup of settlement instructions and completion of counterparty call-backs to ensure security and accuracy of transactions.

Maintain and enhance reconciliation processes and tools: Supervise the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of reconciliation workflows and systems to support operational efficiency, control standards, and stakeholder needs.

Develop, document, and monitor operational procedures and metrics: Establish robust processes and controls by maintaining clear documentation that supports consistent execution and knowledge transfer. Define, track, and report on key operational metrics to monitor performance and drive improvement.

Identify and resolve reconciliation breaks and payment exceptions: Investigate root causes, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and implement corrective actions to minimize risk and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies.

Foster a high-performing team environment: Provide coaching, mentorship, and cross-training to team members, building bench strength, promoting flexibility, and supporting career development within the group.

Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence: Evaluate existing processes for efficiency, scalability, and accuracy; lead or contribute to initiatives that enhance the team's effectiveness and adaptability to evolving business needs.
Qualifications

Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in investment operations, cash management, or financial controls, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory capacity.

Professional designations such as CFA, CPA, or CTP are considered an asset.

Experience with reconciliation tools and payment platforms is considered an asset.

Strong understanding of financial instruments across public and private markets.

Strong analytical and management skills are essential to succeed in this role.
