About the role

Why is this role important?

Under the direction of the Human Resources Business Partner, the Recruiter will work collaboratively with the HR Advisory team and hiring managers to recruit top talent for the organization. The Recruiter will be responsible for leading full-cycle recruitment and selection processes for assigned positions and for updating and maintaining the Applicant Tracking System (ATS).

What you'll do

  1. Leads the full-cycle recruitment and selection process for assigned positions within their respective portfolio. Identifies and verifies job requirements and creates Job Postings to ensure they are aligned to job evaluation standards. Posts job openings internally and externally and prepares interview questions. Uses the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to screen and review resumes.

  2. Conducts discovery calls with potential candidates and intake calls with the hiring manager, schedule interviews and advises the hiring manager of recruitment best practices.

  3. Completes all pre-employment background checks and negotiates job offers with selected candidates. Ensures the prompt closure of all internal and external sources and job boards. Ensures a smooth and positive candidate experience.

  4. Sources and assesses candidates using a variety of sourcing techniques such as social networking, job boards, and networking. Measures the performance of efforts and makes recommendations for improvement to sourcing strategies.

  5. Provides guidance to hiring managers and employees on relevant policy interpretation. Ensures an equitable approach in compliance with relevant policies is taken.

  6. Supports the HR Business Partners in recruitment of executive positions as requested – i.e. resume screening, coordination of interviews, credentialing, initiating pre-employment background checks, etc.

  7. Participates in career fairs in the preparation process and represents the organization at events.

  8. Makes recommendations and brings forward ideas and suggestions for improvement to processes and policies

What you'll bring to the table

• University degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or other related degree. A combination of education/experience may be considered. RPR, TAS or CERS designation preferred, CHRP/CHRL designation is considered an asset.

• Minimum 3 years related experience with high volume, full cycle recruitment.

• Experience using HRIS system required and an applicant tracking system. Knowledge of Njoyn would be considered an asset.

• High level proficiency with MS Office suite of tools is required.

• A strong commitment to customer service with experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.

• Must exercise tact and diplomacy and ensure that confidentiality is always maintained

• Excellent interpersonal, organizing, communication and negotiation skills with ability to effectively meet competing deadlines.

• Ability to work in fast-paced and demanding environment and to work collaboratively in a virtual team environment.

• Fluency in English is required, bilingualism in both official languages is an asset.
