Job Description
The Analyst will be a part of the Global Client Group and will be a “go-to” for everyone on the team. The Analyst will be involved in many ways in the day-to-day of fundraising activities and relationship management with current and prospective investors. Initially, the Analyst will support the team to learn the business from the ground up. The opportunity for increased ownership and more client focused initiatives will eventually present. Success in this role is achieved by being a team player, taking initiative and always seeking opportunities to learn and progress.
Main Responsibilities
Provide client service for both current and prospective investors:
- Support the Client Relationship team (“CRM”) with client prospect due diligence and onboarding
- Coordinate, log, track and monitor client service queries to ensure timely and complete responses
- Liaise with the broader Project Management / Business Group IR teams to respond to incoming Investor fund and service requests from both current and prospective investors
- Work with CRMs to originate client investment activity and any ad-hoc business development activities
Overall Strategy and Team Updates:
- Responsible for ensuring Brookfield’s internal CRM system (Salesforce) is up to date for internal reporting purposes
- Support logistics in investor conferences and road shows for the Canadian CRM team
- Coordinate and complete ad-hoc information, status update requests from Project Management Team and leadership across all fund strategies
Industry and Client-Specific Research:
- Compile detailed pre-meeting materials for each client meeting involving Brookfield investment professionals
- Leverage market data, research and outside analysis to create targeted prospective investor lists for new funds and strategies
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in business or finance, with an excellent academic background and extracurriculars
- An understanding of financial concepts, keeps up to date with financial news, capital markets etc.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience in the finance industry, exposure to private equity, alternative asset funds or a client-facing role in the financial services industry would be ideal
- An analytical and qualitative perspective, is proactive and on the ball with all deadlines and projects
- Excellent writing and editing skills as well as articulate with verbal communication
- Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, PPT and Excel), experience with Salesforce an asset
- Top notch interpersonal skills, can build relationships with colleagues and external investors
