**Business Analyst - CMBC EAM (8 Month Contract)
Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid
Staffing Placement Opportunity** Project Overview This role supports a multi-phase project focused on improving Asset Management, Work Management, and Supply Chain Management processes. The project aims to implement mobile technologies, streamline operations, and align enterprise practices with industry standards. It involves collaboration across multiple departments and has broad business impact.
Position Summary Reporting to the Project Manager, the Business Analyst will work closely with project teams, technical experts, vendors, and business stakeholders to drive process improvements and support technology transformations. This role will focus on defining requirements, analyzing current processes, and helping design future-state solutions that align with operational goals and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Define business problems, opportunities, risks, and project objectives.
- Lead and participate in stakeholder workshops across various business streams (Supply Chain, Work Management, Asset Management, Technical).
- Gather, analyze, and document business requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, and document reviews.
- Translate high-level information into detailed requirements, use cases, process maps, technical specifications, and user stories.
- Partner with system integrators, vendors, and business units to design and document future-state processes.
- Conduct fit-gap analysis comparing current processes to leading industry practices.
- Maintain traceability between requirements and user stories to ensure alignment throughout the project.
- Provide support for data migration and validation activities.
- Assist technical teams with configuration requirements and develop acceptance criteria.
- Support test strategy development, including test case creation and execution.
- Assist in preparing decision documents and facilitating decisions with key stakeholders.
- Collaborate on business case development and benefit realization activities.
- Contribute to a standard process architecture framework and support organizational change management initiatives.
- Develop and deliver clear communications and presentations to managers, directors, and cross-functional teams.
- Coordinate feedback from Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure solution designs meet business needs.
- Maintain alignment with project scope and track scope variances.

- Fit-gap analysis documents
- Business requirements and traceability matrices
- Use cases, user stories, and decision analysis artifacts
- Report requirements and mock-ups
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and user documentation

- Communication materials and knowledge transfer documents
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of Business Analyst experience in large-scale transformation projects
- Strong background in business process improvement, analysis, and facilitation
- Ability to gather, analyze, and consolidate information from diverse sources
- Experience supporting the full solution lifecycle from requirements to implementation
- Skilled in test planning, execution, and documentation
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities, including senior stakeholder engagement
- Familiarity with Asset Management functions or enterprise asset management systems
- Experience with ERP solutions (e.g., SAP, Oracle E-Business, Infor EAM/CSF) is desirable
- Hands-on process design using tools such as MS Visio
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- Working knowledge of Agile tools such as Azure DevOps (or willingness to learn prior to starting)
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Business Analyst Certification (e.g., CBAP, PMI-PBA)
- Experience in Organizational Change Management
- Vendor management and SaaS collaboration experience
- Background in technical environments or development support
