About the Medical Lead Position

As Medical Lead, you will support a variety of business functions to ensure successful strategy implementation and efficient operation of the medical team. You will be responsible for liaising with healthcare professionals to develop scientifically and clinically accurate medical content. The Medical Lead is expected to consistently represent as the medical subject matter expert within the organization to ensure scientific accuracy, fair balance, and quality.

In this role, you will collaborate cross-functionally to plan and execute medical education and communications programs. This includes, but is not limited to, advisory boards, medical education programs, medical and training events, and publications.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage medical content, ensuring accuracy, quality, and strategic application of client objectives
  • Review materials for scientific accuracy and fair balance
  • Analyze new therapeutic areas and provide strategic input
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals and internal teams for content creation
  • Coordinate program development and execution with clients and team members
  • Facilitate communication with clients and healthcare professionals
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients and healthcare professionals
  • Coordinate with external contractors for content development
  • Manage compliance reviews using client software
  • Prepare written communications to various stakeholders
  • Handle submissions to ethics (e.g., IRB) and accrediting (e.g., CFPC) bodies
  • Contribute to timeline development and management
  • Conduct literature searches to analyze therapeutic areas and support content development
  • Provide support to Account Team for client and faculty discussions

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • At least two years experience in medical communications
  • An advanced degree in health science
  • Experience in creating and interpreting medical content
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Skilled in analyzing and interpreting clinical data
  • Demonstrated leadership or coordination in projects
  • Attention to detail
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is an asset
  • Essential skills: attention to detail, organizational proficiency, effective teamwork, prioritization
  • Bilingualism (French) is an asset

  • Starting base salary of 70,000 CAD to 80,000 CAD, proportionate with experience and qualifications

The Interview Process

  • A preliminary interview with the Associate Medical Director and an Account Director. During this interview, we will learn more about your background and experience, share details about the position, and answer any questions you may have.
  • Successful candidates can expect a second in-person interview, which will include the Associate Medical Director and a Business Unit Director. At this interview, candidates will have an opportunity to give a 5-minute slide-based presentation on the topic of their choice.
