The Senior Manager, BAI and Data Management will support the implementation of the AI strategy, and advanced analytics operations at Home Depot. Responsibilities include integrating AI into online (web, and marketing) products, merchandising (pricing, forecasting etc.), and Pro (loyalty, prospecting, etc.), defining the data requirements to support analytics and AI, conducting research, and collaborating with other data science teams to advance the implementation of AI.

As part of a high-energy, diverse, fast-paced, and innovative culture, the Sr. Manager, BAI and Data Management will be expected to engage with our business partners to identify data-driven opportunities and map business problems to data science and AI solutions; develop a roadmap that spans and informs all areas of the business from product innovation to customer success; and guide and inspire the teams in best practices, and evangelize strategic use of data throughout the marketing and e-commerce, merchandising and Pro businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Business AI Insights

  • Identify new opportunities in partnership with the business to use AI in key business processes. Examples include churn prediction, search optimization, recommendation engines etc.
  • Drive AI integrations into new and existing online features to enhance functionality, user experience, and market competitiveness
  • Lead the team of data scientists on end-to-end AI product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring timely delivery and positive ROI
  • Spearhead initiatives to streamline the transition of AI and analytics projects from development to production, ensuring robust infrastructure and operational efficiency

Generative AI Adoption

  • Champion research and experimentation to promote the adoption of generative AI in both internal and customer facing opportunities in unison with the data science teams in Home Depot US
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation of the use of Generative AI within the team and more broadly across business users in marketing, Merchandising and Pro

Data Management

  • Oversee team responsible for digital marketing-tagging strategy, Adobe analytics tagging, implementation and tracking for web analytics, marketing campaigns to generate actionable insights
  • Manage the data engineering team that ensures data quality, governance and consistency for advanced analytics and AI modeling
  • Collaborate closely with IT teams to ensure the effective stewardship of data assets, aligning on best practices for data governance, security, and scalability
  • Ensure AI solutions comply with ethical standards and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of AI systems, making improvements as needed

Leadership and Team Management

  • Be a subject matter expert in supervised and unsupervised ML algorithms, and other applied AI techniques to derive meaningful and actionable insights from big data to support optimization in stores such as product assortment, space, display etc.
  • Setting up the foundations for big data to be useful for machine learning purposes working in conjunction with the data engineering, and IT teams
  • Ability to influence without direct control in adjacent areas of data and analytics across the organization to find common purpose, drive efficiencies, and sustain strong working relationships
  • Mentor and develop the technical and business skills of Data Scientists, junior AI team members, ensuring technical excellence and professional growth
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI technology and industry trends and propose roadmaps that align with the marketing and e-commerce AI strategy

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, or other related fields.
  • 7-10 years experience in one or multiple of the following areas: machine learning, deep learning, choice modeling, time series analysis, statistical signal processing, or natural language processing.
  • Experience using cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP) big data tools (Hadoop, Hive, Spark) in data science solutions.
  • 5-10 years of leading teams to deliver data analytics and machine learning solutions for cross-functional business teams.

Advanced Degree (Preferred):

  • Ph.D. or MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Applied Math, or other related fields.

Relevant Certifications:

Minimum Years of Work Experience:

  • 8-10 Years of Relevant Work Experience

Minimum Leadership Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial role, overseeing teams and project

Certifications:

  • Patents / Whitepapers publications are an asset
