About the role
Ski Lift Mechanic:
The Heights ski and country club is seeking a full-time Ski Lift Mechanic to join our Operations Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and safe operation of 4 fixed-grip chairlifts and two (2) conveyor lifts. This role plays a critical part in ensuring lifts are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards. This position requires a self-starter who takes initiative and ownership of lifts, with a strong work ethic to help achieve a high standard of safety and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all lift systems.
· Execute preventative maintenance procedures as outlined by manufacturers, industry standards, and the TSSA (Technical Standards and Safety Authority).
· Maintain accurate maintenance records and logs.
· Work collaboratively with the Lift Operations and Maintenance Team.
· Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and system testing.
· Follow all health and safety regulations and ensure safe work practices.
· Respond to lift issues during operating hours and assist with after-hours support as needed.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
· Other duties as assigned including but not limited to snowmaking, mechanical work on rolling stock, light electrical, light carpentry.
· Read, understand, and implement company policies and procedures.
· Provide a high level of professionalism and courtesy to ski area guests.
Qualifications:
· Valid SLM-B or T is preferred but not a requirement. Willing to train on the job.
· Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
· Ability to interpret service manuals, technical documentation, and schematic diagrams.
· Must be physically able to lift 40+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks in varying outdoor weather conditions.
· Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
· Commitment to safety, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
· Current working knowledge of Health and Safety code.
· WHMIS training.
· Able and willing to work outdoors in all types of weather.
· Able and willing to climb lift towers and work above ground.
· Valid driver’s license.
· Ability to operate snowmobiles, ATVs and 4×4 trucks in a safe and responsible manner.
· Own tools are an asset.

Pay: $40,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
