About the role
Agilus is recruiting for a Data Analyst in the Oil and Gas in Calgary, Alberta. Accountabilities
- Data Modeling & Design: Estimate, design, and develop scalable data models for Master Data Management (MDM) and transactional data to support enterprise reporting and analytics.
- Data Governance, Standards & Culture: Define and enforce enterprise-wide data management principles, standards, and best practices. Act as a data steward and promote a data-driven culture.
- Data Analysis & Documentation: Profile and analyze data for insights; document business rules, definitions, and data lineage.
- Data Integration & Mapping: Design data structures and implement mapping strategies to align source systems with the enterprise data model.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Translate business data needs into technical requirements through close engagement with stakeholders
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or Data Management with a Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) designation or equivalent industry experience.
- Brings 6+ years of experience in data profiling, analysis, and business requirements gathering within enterprise data and analytics environments.
- Proficient in data modeling techniques, including dimensional modeling and enterprise data architecture (e.g., operational data store/star/snowflake data models).
- Proficient in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and manage large datasets across various platforms including Oracle, Databricks SQL, Synapse, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft SQL Server
Soft Skills
- Demonstrates strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Commits to continuous learning, particularly in data preparation and process automation
