Job Title: Senior Financial Professional (Hybrid – Government Contract)
Location: Hybrid (Calgary-based)- Must be legally authorized to work here.
Contract Duration: July 2, 2025 – March 31, 2026 (with possibility of shorter duration based on operational needs)
Security Clearance: Must hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance at the time of application
Position Overview:
We are seeking two (2) Senior Financial Professionals to support the Financial Accounting Team. This role is ideal for professionals with government or public sector accounting experience and strong familiarity with SAP systems . Candidates must be able to work full-time, Monday through Friday, for 7.5 hours daily (excluding lunch).
Key Responsibilities:
- Process travel claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Perform data entry of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Conduct invoice verification and liaise with business units as required
- File and archive financial records according to regulatory standards
- Support month-end and year-end financial activities
- Prepare and post journal entries
- Review and validate key expense accounts for proper coding
- Complete other related administrative financial tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or financial roles
- Demonstrated experience with SAP (expenditure and procurement modules in particular)
- Experience in month-end and year-end processing, as well as accounts payable and receivable
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Business, Commerce, or a combination of relevant diploma and work experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communication skills for internal coordination and cross-departmental collaboration
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote setting
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must currently hold a valid Reliability Security Clearance
- Availability to work Monday–Friday, 7.5 hours/day (excluding federal statutory holidays)
