About the Role
Reporting to an Innovation and Technology Strategy employee, the selected candidate will play a role in supporting and evolving Innovation Technology practice in a large, dynamic and growing organization. Focusing on Business Value enabled by technology, the student supports innovation activities that guide business and operating models, people, processes and technology. This is not a developer role.
He/she works with strategy and business leaders to identify and progress innovative initiatives leveraging IT and Operational Technology (OT). Innovation Technology Analyst creates deliverables for business leaders that support technology investments in response to disruptive forces and toward achieving targeted business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide IT support to other business units in the Brookfield Renewable corporate team
- Maintain SharePoint team website on the corporate intranet;
- Support corporate initiatives and teams through requirements gathering, recommend best practices and some technical work like Power BI;
- Explore innovative and emerging technologies and help apply them to our portfolio companies to generate business value;
- Assist in proposing solutions to our portfolio companies respecting their individual requirements and our corporate IT and OT strategies;
- Ability to execute research and gather information from our portfolio companies on technologies mainly around AI;
- Build and communicate business cases and innovation concepts to non-technical users through PowerPoint and other means;
- Research, evaluate and enable new technologies and ideas to determine their potential to grow our various businesses.
Knowledge Required
- Enrolled in a post-secondary course in Business, Information Technology or related program;
- Knowledge and interest in innovative technologies like advanced analytics and AI;
- Knowledge of Power BI, and best practices when building dashboards for optimum user experience is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Microsoft 365) is considered an asset;
- Knowledge of Microsoft and Amazon Web Services cloud solutions is considered an asset;
- Experience with ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, or other generative AI chatbot solution
Note: Offices continue to be central to collaboration and Brookfield’s identity. This position requires the employee to be on-site for a minimum of 4 days a week to perform most effectively. We will reassess the approach on an ongoing basis.
