As the Shipper Receiver you will work under the direction and guidance of others, including a Red Seal Journeyperson or Parts person, to perform general warehouse duties such as ordering, receiving, shipping, and binning. Your attention to detail and conscientious efforts will support the team’s efforts in providing high levels of timely and accurate service to each other and to our customers.

What we offer:
The Shipper/Receiver is a union position, with the starting wage of $21.67 - $27.09 per hour depending on experience. This role includes a pension contribution of $2.50 - $4.63 per hour, along with extended medical and dental coverage, and top-tier holidays and vacations as per the Collective Agreement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general warehouse duties, including operating forklift, pallet jacks in indoor and outdoor environment.

  • Handle ordering, shipping and receiving, logging, and tracking of general inbound/outbound freight.

  • Create customs documents.

  • Code and cost freight.

  • Process stock orders, emergency orders, branch transfers, interim orders, and mobile van resupply.

  • Perform general inventory stock management.

  • Communicate professionally with customers and vendors through phone calls, emails and face-to-face interactions.

  • Support parts counter, yard, and other departments.

  • Ensure high levels of accuracy and customer satisfaction.

  • Assist in processing yearly and interim returns in accordance with Vendor policies.

  • Accept other duties and responsibilities as required to support the company’s business needs.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working in a warehouse and/or in a shipping receiving role (an asset).

  • Self-driven, with an excellent ability to learn new processes and procedures.

  • Keen attention to detail, a positive attitude, and good interpersonal skills.

  • General computer skills, including ability to learn and navigate new software systems. Some knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook and Excel.

  • Superb customer service skills and strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a group environment.

  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and hours if required.

  • Basic knowledge of automotive, heavy-duty parts warehousing (considered an asset).

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and capable of standing or sitting for long periods of time at different desk or counter heights and on varying surfaces.

  • Ability to operate forklift, pallet jacks in indoor and outdoor environment (training will be provided).

Training, Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in warehousing and distribution environment is a plus.

  • Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by related training and experience.

Working Conditions: The Shipper Receiver is based out of the Surrey office and works 40 hours on average per week Monday to Friday.
