Purpose:

This position leads the Timken Canada business unit, overseeing all aspects of Sales—including Industrial Distribution and Automotive Aftermarket and OE sales—Customer Service, local Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations. As the Manager of Timken Canada, you are accountable for the business unit’s overall profit and loss within the region. This role serves as the company’s representative with external stakeholders such as legal, banking, and government entities, while actively cultivating relationships with local business groups that align with Timken’s strategic goals. This role drives the development and execution of the sales growth strategy for Canada, managing all resources to ensure successful implementation. Overseeing the annual operating expenses (S&A), working capital management—including inventory, receivables, and payables—and capital investments to optimize business performance

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the development, execution, and achievement of the business plan for Timken Canada, ensuring alignment with targets across Sales, EBIT, S&A, and Working Capital.

  • Lead the implementation of both short-term and long-term strategic initiatives for Timken Canada, ensuring alignment with global corporate objectives for growth and profitability.

  • Establish and maintain an operating plan that supports the company’s strategic priorities while driving sustainable performance.

  • Serve as the primary representative of the Timken Canada legal entity, acting as the lead spokesperson with government officials and regulatory bodies.

  • Lead and nurture a high-performing local team, fostering a culture aligned with Timken’s mission, values, and commitment to operational excellence.

  • Develop and deepen strong, customer-centric relationships with industrial distributors, OEMs, and end-users across Canada, ensuring alignment with their evolving needs.

  • Provide leadership and guidance to the Canadian customer service and commercial teams, ensuring a consistently high standard of service delivery that reflects the Timken brand promise.

  • Direct sales and marketing efforts, including territory development and management of customer feedback to inform business decisions and improve customer engagement.

  • Lead the design and execution of pricing strategies and sales programs for both OEM and distributor channels, factoring in market dynamics, competition, and corporate profitability goals.

  • Manage asset utilization and customer service metrics by establishing product-specific service level targets that balance operational efficiency with customer satisfaction.

  • Ensure all sales, marketing, and customer service activities comply with Canadian statutory regulations, Timken’s global accounting practices, and applicable SOX requirements.

  • Drive strategic operational planning for Timken Canada, ensuring both internal alignment and external competitiveness across diverse industries and markets.

Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Experience managing cross functional teams

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across multiple levels of the organization and functional areas

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business or related field with 10+ years of experience
