Why You?
We are looking for a dynamic and collaborative leader to join our organization and Municipal Law Enforcement Department as Supervisor, Administrative Penalties & Automated Speed Enforcement! In support of the Town of Innisfil’s Strategic Plan 2030, you will take a “Community First” approach to the monitoring, management, expansion, and evaluation of the Town’s Administrative Penalties and Automated Speed Enforcement programs, and will be responsible for:
- Collaborating and liaising with other departments to consider impacts and risk mitigation, and ensure all relevant staff are informed and trained on programs, policies and procedures; working with regulatory organizations, South Simcoe Police, Ministry of Transportation, Ministry of Attorney General, to mediate/facilitate issues, handle complaints, and resolve issues.
- Supervising and overseeing the coordination of all work activities of the Town's Administrative Penalty Program; participating in the development of the AP & ASE strategies, policies, by-laws and directions in consultation with the Manager.
- Proposing new strategies and long-term initiatives relative to programming, future requirements, and administrative changes; implementing actions to achieve corporative objectives.
- Interacting with Council and senior staff to provide advice, mediate/facilitate, handle complaints, and problem solve difficult and sensitive issues to inform their decisions on AP and screening matters.
Job Requirements
The preferred candidate holds:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., business or public administration, law and security, police foundations, etc.) or other legal related field.

Five (5) plus years of experience in law enforcement, with preference given to those with automated speed enforcement and administrative penalty program experience.

Knowledge of municipal by-laws, provincial regulation and administrative penalty system with a minimum of three (3) years of experience. A minimum of one (1) year of experience supervising staff in a unionized environment is preferred.

Experience in data gathering and report writing. Previous experience directly related to Automated Speed Enforcement and Administrative Penalty programs is preferred.

Availability to attend evening and weekend meetings or other events, if necessary, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and travel to offsite locations in a timely and efficient manner.
