Responsibilities
- Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patient health.
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
- Offer companionship and emotional support to enhance the well-being of individuals.
- Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
- Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Document patient progress and report any changes in health status to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Engage clients in activities that promote mental stimulation and physical activity.
Requirements
- Previous experience in patient care or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols is essential.
- Experience with dementia care, hospice care, or senior care is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor.
- A commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and dignity at all times.
- Certification or training in home care or nursing is a plus but not mandatory.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
