About the role
Are you a skilled Welding Engineer? one of Stellar's Halifax-based clients is looking for a hands-on expert to lead welding development, assure production quality, and support the next generation of marine manufacturing. Responsibilities
- Develop and qualify welding procedures in accordance with classification society and national standards
- Provide technical leadership and on-site support during production and testing activities
- Supervise Welder Technicians during weld procedure testing and development
- Create technical welding documents and provide expert consultation to internal teams
- Evaluate new welding equipment and technologies for improved efficiency and quality
- Investigate and resolve welding and material issues to ensure first-time quality
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related scientific discipline
- P.Eng designation strongly preferred; CWB Welding Engineering Recognition is an asset
- Minimum 5 years of shipbuilding or relevant engineering experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of FCAW and GTAW welding; experience with mechanized welding is desirable
- Proficient in weld procedure development, drawing interpretation, and QA/QC best practices
- Skilled in MS Office, SharePoint, and capable of quickly adopting new technical software
Salary Range: $87-110k/year
