About the role
Connectivity Solutions is one of Canada's leading cabling infrastructure service solutions providers. We’re currently looking for a Finance Manager to support our Vineland, Ontario location. This position is available immediately and will report to the General Manager.
Job Purpose: This role supports company operations by performing general accounting and assist the project coordination with duties as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Accounts Receivable: enter payments in QuickBooks; process bank deposits; manage communications supporting past due notices and month end statements; manage the collection of overdue payments. Prepare monthly AR reports.
- Accounts Payable: enter in QuickBooks purchase receipts, supplier and vendor invoices, employee expenses, milage, pre-authorized bill payments; remit bill payments; prepare cheques and Cash Management Online. Send out remittance information. Prepare monthly AP reports. Reconcile credit card accounts.
- Credit Cards: enter in QuickBooks the credit card purchase receipts, reconcile credit cards, ensure prompt payment of all cards.
- Commissions: create commissions reports, enter into Quickbooks, and pay via Cash Management Online.
- Payroll: create payroll, set up Cash Management Online and send our paystubs.
- Taxes: Ensure HST, QST, Corporate, Source Deductions and WSIB reports and payments are completed on schedule. Assist with year end tax reports, back up and submission.
- Filing: maintain up-to-date digital filing system to support bookkeeping and financial records.
- Policies: maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Support: provide support for any external auditors and provide necessary documentation
- Project: Assist the Business Solutions Manager to create, update and file documents for projects both digitally throughout the duration of projects, from Project start-up to Project close-out including Sales Orders, Work Orders, Purchase Orders, Change Orders, Deliverables including Tech notes, Asbuilts, test results, images, warranties and Statutory Declarations, etc.
- Other general office/administrative duties, as required.
Required Education, Skills and Qualifications:
- College diploma in accounting or equivalent professional work experience
- 2-3 years general accounting experience, including accounts payable/receivable
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written/verbal)
- Disciplined self-starter with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills, detail-oriented, able to prioritize/multi-task
- Have a positive, flexible can-do attitude
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe and QuickBooks Desktop (experience with premier contractor addition an asset)
Job Type: Full-time. Monday to Friday days, 40 hours/week
Job Location: Hybrid position, primarily work from home, with reporting to office (in Vineland) from time to time as needed
Rate of pay: $50,000-$52,500 per year depending on experience/education. Vacation upon the successful completion of three (3) months of probationary employment.
Qualified candidates will be expected to undergo, at their own expense, a background check including employment, education, criminal records and credit history.
