Responsibilities Tasks
- Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Address customers' complaints or concerns
- Coach colleagues on new methods or work techniques
- Mountain driving expertise
- Professionalism in customer service
- Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations
- Load and unload goods
- Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform brake adjustments
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo
- Transport and handle dangerous goods

About Ontario Transway Inc.
We provide intermodal container solutions and we have been servicing Ontario since 2015. We have expanded our fleet to 50 trucks and 120 chassis. We have our own terminal(8.13 acres) fully secured with 24/7 video surveillance and security guard on site. We have our own Container handler with 2 operators working day and night. We can provide storage as well as transportation within Ontario province. We have 16000 sq ft of warehouse space and 6 docks for destuffing and crossdocking.
