Scope of Position

Reporting to the Inventory Lead, the Inventory Control Clerk works with the supply chain department to make sure that inventory is on route, on shelves and well-stocked. Other duties include:

  • Responsible for analyzing and rectifying any discrepancies related to Inventory Projects.

  • Conduct Stock Check/Stock Takes and updating the system to reflect the accurate inventory alignment.

  • Complete Inventory Accuracy Reporting.

  • Perform and manage daily counts in warehouse locations.

  • Responsible for maintaining and tracking daily audit counts.

  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count.

  • Investigates and reports root cause for any discrepancies, and if necessary, adjusts the errors in the system, under the direction of the inventory.

  • Ensures compliance with established internal control procedures.

  • Help identify obsolete or slow-moving inventory and escalate accordingly.

  • May stock and issue materials or merchandise.

  • Creates Syspro jobs as needed.

  • Oversee Bin creation and bin extraction as needed.

  • Monitor shelf-life Storage.

  • Assist with AOG and spares shipments when required.

  • Escalates problems that require help to the appropriate individual.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills supporting identification of areas of improvement and solution development.

  • Skills in general business, computer literate, and verbal/written communications are required.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Windows Based Operating Systems.

  • Above average written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to count accurately, read, write, and interpret information and follow policies and procedures, above average mathematical skills.

  • Knowledge of industrial safety in a production and warehouse environment.

  • Ability to work shifts to accommodate production scheduling.

  • Maintain professionalism.

  • Ability to accomplish duties required effectively and efficiently.

Experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience in Inventory Control field, or in a related area.
  • Previous experience with inventory control, materials management and cycle counting.
  • Previous experience with Warehouse Management or ERP Systems, experience with barcode scanning and affiliated equipment (label printers, handheld devices).
  • Experience within an aerospace or manufacturing environment, considered an asset.

Education

  • High school diploma or its equivalent.
