About the role

Position Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst – AML Technology

Department Overview

The AML Technology Team at Matrix-IFS resides within the Enterprise Protect (ES3) organization and supports the Global AML (GAML) business unit. Given the rapid pace of regulatory change and heightened risk management needs, this area is expanding rapidly, offering exciting growth opportunities within the tech landscape. About the Role

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst (Sr. BSA), you will lead the planning, analysis, and documentation of detailed system and functional requirements for AML technology initiatives. You will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders, technology teams, and vendors to support the end-to-end delivery of technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

✨ Core Duties:

  • Lead systems requirement management by collaborating with business stakeholders, SMEs, and vendors
  • Translate high-level business needs into actionable technical and functional requirements
  • Conduct data mapping and document process/data flows from source to target systems
  • Support Agile development cycles using tools like Jira and Confluence
  • Serve as subject matter expert for AML screening systems (e.g., Nice Actimize, Watchlist Management)
  • Collaborate on system design, ensuring alignment with architecture and regulatory compliance

Project & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Coordinate with Business Analysts and solution teams to assess and propose technical solutions
  • Partner with testing teams to translate requirements into test scenarios and acceptance criteria
  • Evaluate production support implications during the design phase, promoting operational stability
  • Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, status reporting, and delivery milestones

Requirement

  • Education Undergraduate Degree or Technical Certificate required; Graduate Degree preferred
  • Experience 5–7 years of experience in business systems analysis, especially in financial services/AML
  • Technical Skills Experience with AML systems (Nice Actimize, Watchlist tools), ETL rule analysis, data mapping
  • Methodologies Hands-on experience with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
  • Tools Jira, Confluence, and requirements/documentation platforms
  • Soft Skills Excellent communication, writing, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills

Customer & Shareholder Impact

  • Drive end-to-end requirements lifecycle aligned with enterprise technology standards
  • Engage in solution development, vendor assessments, and performance metrics analysis
  • Participate in quality reviews and identify integration impacts across workstreams
  • Support development of business cases, RFPs, SLAs, and vendor negotiation processe

  • Lead by example: manage workload, mentor junior analysts, promote a culture of continuous learning
  • Foster a positive work environment rooted in innovation, inclusion, and transparency
  • Contribute to internal knowledge management and cross-team collaboration
  • Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor to stakeholders and peers

Breadth & Depth of Knowledge

  • Advanced expertise in systems analysis methodologies, business applications, and regulatory tech
  • Deep understanding of AML operations, data flows, and screening requirements
  • Demonstrated success in working independently on complex initiatives with minimal oversight
