Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, this individual will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of the housekeeping department, ensuring guest rooms and public areas are clean and well maintained and creating a welcoming environment for our guests.
As Assistant Housekeeping Manager, you will:
- Opening and closing of the Housekeeping Department
- Inspecting guest rooms and providing feedback to Room Attendants
- Overall supervision of all housekeeping employees
- Lost & Found inquiries
- Various administrative duties
- Acting as a front-line employee in times of department need.
- Additional tasks to be assigned by the Director of Rooms and Housekeeping Manager
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or in a supervisory role is required
- Experience with managing a team, organizing tasks, and ensuring quality control
- A college degree in hospitality management or a related field is an asset
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff, guests, and other departments.
- Detail-oriented with an ability to inspect rooms and public areas for cleanliness and quality.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the property for extended periods.
- Ability to lift or carry heavy objects (e.g., cleaning supplies, linens, etc.).
- Good physical stamina to meet the demands of the job.
- Familiarity with housekeeping software and basic computer skills (e.g., email, scheduling software).
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Ability to resolve issues effectively, such as handling guest complaints or dealing with unexpected situations.
- Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed to meet operational requirements
