About the role
The Town of Slave Lake is seeking enthusiastic individuals to serve as Election Workers for the upcoming Municipal Elections**.** Working under the direction of the Returning Officer, Election workers are an essential part of the electoral process and help to maintain a fair election by assisting on both advanced voting days and on election day. These are temporary seasonal positions.
Must be available for 5 (five) days of training between September 9, 2025, and September 25, 2025.
WAGE:
$35.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Setting up the voting station before polls open
- Assisting voters throughout the voting process
- Providing accurate information to the public
- Counting ballots after the polls close
- Taking down and packing up the voting station
- Performing other tasks as assigned by the Returning Officer or Deputies
QUALIFICATIONS / EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
- Be eligible to work in Canada
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Fluent in English is required; fluency in other languages would be an asset.
- Previous experience working in a municipal, provincial or federal election would be an asset.
Please note: You do not need to be a Canadian citizen to work in this position.
