REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSE (25-0000607)
Bargaining Unit: OPSEU
Status: Full Time
Department: High Support Housing
Location: SJ Health Centre
Shifts: Days/Evenings/Nights including weekends
Rate of Pay: $34.86 - $35.30 per hour
Qualifications:
-
Currently registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
-
Scope of Practice must include physical assessment and pharmacology
-
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support and First Aid Certificates
-
Experience working with people with a serious mental illness and an intellectual disability and/or concurrent addiction issues
-
Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in community assessment, psychosocial rehabilitation and treatment, crisis management and recovery
-
Mental health experience required. Knowledge of psychiatric illnesses/diagnosis, treatment, PSR/recovery
-
Candidates with past community experience an asset
-
Level 1 Food Safety Course
-
Excellent skills in reasoning, problem-solving, decision making and workload organization
-
Excellent communication (verbal, non-verbal, written) and interpersonal skills
-
Valid Class G Ontario driver’s license
-
Demonstrated regular attendance at work and adherence to SJCG Principles of Conduct
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT
This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Offers of employment made to external candidates are conditional upon providing proof of COVID-19 vaccination as per the SJCG Immunization Policy IMS-04-005 or proof of valid medical exemption, prior to the offered effective date. If proof of vaccination or valid medical exemption is not provided, the offer of employment is rescinded.
