Options Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to delivering social services across the Southern Fraser region (Surrey, Delta, White Rock and Langley) from early childhood to seniors. Our comprehensive range of programs and services relies on collaborative relationships with individuals, businesses, community groups and government bodies to create focused, effective and responsive resources for the community.

Position Overview

Step into the role of Employer Liaison/Job Coach at Options Community Services and ignite transformative career journeys for WorkBC clients. As an integral part of our organization, you will support WorkBC clients, specifically those facing multiple barriers and disabilities, in their job search journey. Your primary responsibilities will include generating job leads, facilitating sustainable employment opportunities, managing wage subsidy contracts, coordinating unpaid work experiences, fostering community attachment, and providing on-the-job training and coaching.

Reporting to the Program Manager, our selected candidate will be responsible for placing clients with multi-barriers and diverse-abilities in long-term employment by achieving outcome targets through Outreach, Virtual, and In-person service delivery channels. You will provide comprehensive on-the-job coaching and follow-up support to ensure sustained employment for up to 52 weeks. The position requires networking with employers, attending events, and maintaining an employer database while staying updated on local labour market trends. Additionally, the Job Coach creates opportunities for clients to access job-related experiences and addresses social and emotional barriers to successful employment, prioritizing health and safety concerns throughout the process.

Qualifications

The position requires candidates to have either a Business Administration or Marketing Degree/Diploma or equivalent experience. They should possess a minimum of two years of experience assessing complex client needs in areas such as mental health, addictions, and employment placement. Strong connections to the local business community and knowledge of the labor market are essential. A valid BC driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle are required, along with flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Key skills for this role include proficiency in writing industry-standard resumes, strong numeracy skills, and comfort in a performance-based environment. The role demands independence, self-motivation, and a mature approach, with a commitment to achieving sustainable outcomes within a team. Candidates must demonstrate competence in meeting deadlines, maintaining accurate records, and relating effectively to diverse clientele. As services are primarily delivered in English, strong English communication skills are essential. Additional language skills in Arabic, Swahili, or Somali are considered assets, given the needs of the communities we serve.

This role requires the incumbent to undergo a Police Information Check (PIC), and a Vulnerable Sector Check by the Ministry of Justice.
