About the role
In this position you'll join our client as a Building Science/Structural Engineer, contributing to innovative engineering solutions that blend design, fieldwork, and emerging construction technologies. You’ll support product evaluations, structural design, and building science initiatives across Canada and the U.S., with opportunities to grow your expertise and shape the future of the built environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural design and analysis for residential and small commercial buildings.
- Evaluate and test new building products for code compliance.
- Prepare technical design guides and regulatory reports.
- Perform field investigations and remediation design.
- Support structural design of special structures (e.g., towers, bridges).
- Create and maintain CAD drawings and technical documentation.
- Analyze test data and model component performance
- Participate in quality control and project documentation.
Successful candidates will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 1–5 years of relevant experience (co-op considered).
- EIT or P.Eng. registration with EGBC.
- Familiarity with Canadian/US building codes and standards.
- Hands-on construction or trades experience preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, MS Office, and structural analysis tools.
- Strong technical writing and communication skills.
- Valid BC driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
