Your Opportunity!
We’re looking for a Cook1. This role is responsibilities combine technical culinary skills with leadership and operational duties to maintain a smooth-running kitchen environment.
What You Will Do:
- Plan, prep, and set up food stations for daily features, special events, and presentations.
- Execute food preparation tasks with precision, following company quality standards.
- Ensure consistent and high-quality production in all areas of food prep.
- Assist with supervising Cook 2 and other kitchen staff in the absence of management.
- Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff to ensure efficiency and quality in food preparation.
- Maintain strict attention to the quality of food production, ensuring that all dishes meet company standards.
- Perform tasks error-free, ensuring consistency in food preparation and presentation.
- Follow all established company policies and procedures related to food production, cleanliness, and safety.
- Comply with health department regulations and sanitation guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe work environment.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of special events, displays, and presentations.
- Ensure food is prepared and presented attractively for events.
- Assist with inventory control by ensuring ingredients are stocked and available for daily needs.
- Communicate with the Executive Chef or management about any shortages or inventory concerns.
Qualifications or Skills Required:
- Covid-19 vaccination is mandatory
- High School diploma is considered an asset
- Current Safe Food Handler’s Certification Level 1
- Pursuing Red Seal Certification is considered an asset
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced, professional environment focused on delivering a superior culinary experience
- Must be able to operate related equipment
- Ability to lift up to and including 50 pounds is considered an asset
