Cambrian Credit Union is currently seeking a Communication Coordinator to join our team.

Reporting to the Director, Communications & Governance, the Communications Coordinator works in close collaboration with internal stakeholders to support the content development and strategy for various internal and external communication channels, including Cambrian’s intranet, Financial Literacy Blog, and sections of the Cambrian website (Community, Governance).

In the role of Communications Coordinator, you will:

  • Maintain a strong understanding of Cambrian’s strategy, vision, and business objectives.
  • Work closely with the Communications & Community Engagement team and internal stakeholders to promote the Cambrian brand in our community, within the corporate brand framework and standards.
  • Support the development, enhancement, and maintenance of Cambrian’s intranet to ensure it serves as a comprehensive resource for all employees.
  • Create and deliver compelling internal communications content that engages employees and strengthens strategy awareness.
  • Through independent research and staff interviews, develop and publish financial literacy content for Cambrian’s Financial Literacy Blog, intranet and annual report.
  • Ongoing collaboration with the Content Marketer, including attending topic-planning meetings, to build Cambrian’s social media calendar and content plan for the Financial Literacy Blog and community engagement strategies.
  • Reporting and metrics for Cambrian’s intranet: build and maintain fulsome internal communications dashboards to measure engagement.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure communication is clear, consistent, and aligned with Cambrian’s strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of governance services for the Board of Directors including coordination of the Annual General Meeting and materials supporting the Annual Report, and Director Elections.
  • Support internal stakeholders, such as Marketing, Wealth Advisory Services, IT and others, to deliver seamless, integrated internal and external communications support that align with their campaigns, sales goals, and project objectives.
  • Perform all other duties and functions as deemed necessary or required by the Director, Communications & Governance.

Your Education & Experience:

  • Combination of post-secondary education, with a focus on Communications or Public Relations plus 1+ year of directly related communications experience required.
  • Demonstrated ability in communication planning, preparing, and delivering communications materials.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written) required.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask projects, perform under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications of Teams, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint & Excel.
  • Professional, collaborative approach, positive attitude, and a willingness to learn and work with various teams.
  • Knowledge of SEO/SEM keyword research.
  • Photography and video/video-editing skills considered an asset.
  • Experience with various new media platforms considered an asset.
  • Financial Literacy or Financial Industry experience considered an asset.
