Binnie has an exciting opportunity for a Proposal Manager to join our growing Head Office of nearly 350 staff near scenic Deer Lake in Burnaby. This full-time, permanent position requires a hands-on leader with excellent skills in organization, communication, attention to detail, time management, and multi-tasking. Binnie’s Proposal Manager will have a deep understanding of how to effectively lead the proposal team in delivering high quality proposals. This position offers hybrid work and is part of a supportive team environment.
Reporting to our Corporate Communications Manager and working closely with our team of Project Managers, you will develop and implement our proposal strategy to produce high quality, successful proposals. You will be Binnie’s “go-to” for proposal standards, and you will lead the charge as it relates to identifying business opportunities and maintaining strong relationships with external stakeholders and partners.
Your Role
- Leading, managing, and developing the skills of the Proposal Team members
- Serving as the main point of contact for proposals across the firm, including:
- Acting as the point-person for bid website administration and distribution of proposal opportunities across the firm
- Actively participating in Go/No Go meetings
- Guiding and advising the Proposal Team and Binnie’s subject matter experts on how to develop winning proposals
- Working collaboratively with Project and Division Managers on proposal strategies and ensuring proposal messaging reflects Binnie’s expertise and abilities
- Ensuring proposals adhere to Binnie’s standards for quality, compliance, and presentation
- Continually improving proposal process and quality
- Managing and monitoring the proposal calendar, setting priorities, and coordinating staff resources to meet deadlines
- Developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external clients
- Coordinating proposals as needed in an ‘overflow’ role to alleviate pressure on the Proposal Team
What You Bring
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive proposal preparation experience in a professional services environment
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing people
- Experience in professional services and/or the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry in BC is mandatory
- Completed Degree or Diploma in Marketing/Communications/Business Administration/Arts, or related discipline
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project)
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Mastery of proposal development and strategy
- Proven leadership ability
- Strong technical writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Strong document layout skills and a keen eye for graphic design
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing demands and meet deadlines consistently

The salary range for this position is $99,275.00 - $123,400.00 annually. The final salary for this role may vary based on several factors, including relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
