THE POSITION

The Concession Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of concession stands during events at the Saddledome and McMahon Stadium. This role involves supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards, and managing inventory and end-of-night procedures. This position plays a key role in setting up and maintaining all concession areas and supporting overall event success.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Oversee set-up and readiness of all concessions stands and bars prior to each event.

  • Ensure all concessions stands are closed and cleaned properly at the end of the event.

  • Assign duties to employees and ensure staffing coverage and operational efficiency.

  • Monitor food production and inventory levels.

  • Train new and current staff on procedures, best practices and guest service standards.

  • Step in to support or backfill any positions as needed to maintain service and guest satisfaction.

  • Maintain a safe, clean and harassment-free work environment; promptly report and address safety issues.

  • Supervise alcohol service including ID checks; detect and act upon guest inebriation as trained, escalating to management and security when needed.

  • Support POS transactions, order processing and guest interaction where needed.

  • Ensure all equipment is operational and sanitation needs are met.

  • Enforce company policies and procedures, Model Professional conduct always.

  • Participate in pre-event stand up meetings.

  • Ensure all staff are following proper uniform standards.

  • Communicate effectively with managers throughout the event.

  • Assist with inventory, training sessions, and other projects assigned by the management team.

THE INDIVIDUAL

The ideal candidate will have the following background:

  • At least 1-2 years’ experience working in a supervisory capacity in food and beverage.
  • Able to remain mobile and alert for extended periods of time.
  • Passion for guest services.
  • Pro-Serve certified.
  • Must possess Valid Alberta Basic Food Safety Certification.
  • Proven people, time management and strong communication skills.
  • A strong motivator, mentor, and leader, who can form a strong rapport with direct and indirect reports across a multifunctional organization.
  • Possess a strong sense of accountability and a natural talent for organizing and prioritizing responsibilities.
  • Open to innovation and proactive creative problem solving.
  • Must be able to take direction and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Please note that this position is based on the event schedule in a fast-paced environment, with emphasis on evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays. Shift lengths vary and require flexible working hours.
