About the role

Latecoere Aerostructures Canada is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual for an opening in Production Control. Reporting to the Operations Delivery Manager, this position will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating work through the shop floor in an aerospace manufacturing environment. The ideal incumbent will be flexible, able to prioritize the workload with the needs of production and have a continual improvement mindset. He/she will liaise with Production Supervisors, Shop Floor employees, procurement and other departments, so a strong team-orientation is essential.

Primary Responsibilities
· Develop standard production schedule for individual work centers
· Monitor schedule attainment and analyze schedule variance
· Adjust daily work center schedules and develop priorities based on available resources
· Coordinate parts flow through work centers as per schedule

Participates In:
· Authorizing work to the shop floor by releasing, printing, and delivering the production orders using MRP outputs
· Communicating progress of production schedules (via reports, charts, meetings)
· Monitoring status of rush orders (including shortages)
· Maintaining item master information (order quantities and planner codes)
· Lean initiatives to increase shop throughput and capacity
· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience
· Post-secondary degree or diploma in Operations Management
· Minimum 2 to 5 years of Production scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment
· Good working knowledge of ERP/MRP and BOMs
· Excellent English written and verbal communication skills
· Strong ability to focus on detail, accuracy and take initiative
· Excellent problem solving, analytical and organization skills
· Ability to work under pressure in a high paced environment
· Working knowledge of Lean Techniques (Kanban and Process Improvements)
· Proficiency in the use of MS Word and Excel
· Successful candidate must meet all requirements under CGD & ITAR.
