About the Part Time Medical Receptionist Position:
This position is an integral part of the overall day-to-day operation of the Clinic.
You must be available to work the following hours (no exceptions):
Mondays 9am-3pm
Tuesdays 8am-5pm
Thursdays 8am-5pm
The Receptionist is responsible for all formal interactions with patients and the overall success of the relationship between the company and the client. This frontline position requires a good working knowledge of customer service models found throughout the service industry and must be able to adapt to the ever-changing needs of a multi-service environment.
The primary role is twofold: creating excellent customer service experiences and generating revenue through the retail sector.
Other responsibilities include administration support, fielding patient calls and coordination with senior management.
Responsibilities:
- Open office in the morning, turning on computers, check messages, fill liquid nitrogen tanks
- Run reports on Health cards for patients arriving the next day
- Print daily patient sheets and distribute to Physicians and staff
- Answering the 7 lines of incoming telephone calls
- Meet and greet patient in the office to ensure they are comfortable and seen in a timely fashion.
- Check in patients and register new patients by creating patient charts
- Sorting through office mail daily
- Complete and submit OHIP billing from previous day patients
- Check out direct billing cosmetic patients
- Follow up rejected OHIP billing with Family Physician or Patient
- Schedule and fax patient referrals to referring Physician
- Reschedule and follow up patients that do not show up for appointments
- Print and organize promotional materials for office
- Other duties as needed to support the overall operations of the Clinic
Skills:

- Good customer service skills
- Good understanding of product and service knowledge offered at the clinic

Prior Experience Requirements:
- Experience in a medical office setting
- Experience or education in Medical terminology
- Education in business would be an asset
- Minimum high school diploma, college diploma would be an asset.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment
- Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Lifting or moving up to 10lbs may be required (i.e. unpacking medical supplies and restocking rooms)
Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months
Pay: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 25 per week
