MAKING AN IMPACT
The Senior Manager, Digital Fundraising will provide strategic direction for digital fundraising products, channels, and online revenue growth for cancer.ca. They will maintain, retain and grow the online giving base and expand paid, direct, and organic acquisitions while enhancing donor conversion and donor lifetime value.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Fundraising, the candidate will use online statistical modeling to identify high-impact digital innovations, optimizations, and conversion strategies to diversify the revenue mix through audience, product and platform testing. They will collaborate across the organization on go-to-market fundraising plans aligned with five-year strategic priorities.
This role requires a strong leader who is strategic, adaptable, and skilled in managing partnerships, priorities, budgets, pilots, and execution plans. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, data-driven, forward-thinkers, and experienced in agile and minimal viable product approaches within a matrix environment.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING**:**
1. Strategic planning
- Lead digital fundraising strategy to support fiscal goals and five-year strategic priorities.
- Implement a test-and-learn approach to optimize digital outcomes and performance.
- Develop and scale digital go-to-market processes with internal and external partners to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Steer the mass marketing digital fundraising priority roadmap, functional prerequisites and click conversion recommendations to grow online revenue.
- Build and manage digital innovation pilots, monitor and evaluate test outcomes and socialize change to acquire new donors and grow the digital base.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on digital offer positioning (web) and establish conversion optimization best practices.
- Monitor conversion KPIs and industry trends to apply best practices, monetize emerging opportunities, and differentiate CCS's digital fundraising efforts from market players
- Manage and report on revenue and expense budgets, risks and opportunities.
2. Digital fundraising optimization
- Lead and manage the creation, planning, and execution of digital (web) revenue initiatives, examining effectiveness and scaling insights
- Build strong stakeholder relationships to influence web prioritization, planning, management, and optimization for mass fundraising pathways
- Develop and implement A/B testing strategies based on traffic and user performance data, collaborating internal teams to optimize donor conversion and revenue growth.
- Oversee paid, web, and eCommerce refresh projects, including content updates, creative/product asset refreshes, and journey optimization to drive web performance and donor conversion rates.
- Establish SEO and SEM tactics while considering AIO, GEO, AEO and SXO to maximize conversion performance across organic, direct, paid, and referral traffic for Monthly, Annual, Campaign, and eCommerce digital fundraising programs.
- Create a seamless digital donor experience from paid clicks to web consideration, eCommerce engagement, conversion, and post-transaction retention.
- Manage digital revenue initiatives, examining effectiveness and scaling insights using metrics such as traffic, engagement, bounce rate, and conversions
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize and execute campaign planning requirements, asset production, across paid, web, and eCommerce fundraising.
3. Paid digital advertising & analytics
- Assess and optimize digital fundraising paid always-on digital campaigns and web conversion drivers (offers/features) to improve donor acquisition and retention.
- Manage internal and external vendor partnerships and conversion performance to expand online donor acquisitions and reactivation of Monthly, Annual, and Tribute giving through paid and organic digital activities.
- Develop vendor briefs for paid media placements, product creative formats, and platform targeting strategies to enhance conversion rates and ROI.
- Oversee vendor briefing and execution for paid digital donor acquisitions campaigns, establishing a go-to-market process for campaign development, management, asset production, and updates.
- Develop and maintain paid-performance conversion dashboards, evaluate KPIs to grow online revenue by measuring traffic, conversion rates, and investment profitability.
- Monitor digital performance KPIs and refine planning and prioritization strategies for existing and new digital fundraising initiatives.
- Assess and examine traffic, user behavior, transactions, and personas to expand and enhance the national digital fundraising portfolio in both English and French.
- Evaluate emerging trends and opportunities, sharing insights to establish a best-in-class digital fundraising center of excellence.
4. Process and performance management
- Oversee the end-to-end digital (web) performance function
- Complete internal and external partnership reviews, audits and evaluations
- Foster a high-performance culture that leverages the unique talents and strengths of each member while encouraging their growth and development.
- Champion CCS as a hero in the face of cancer.
- Contribute to our culture of diversity, inclusion, belonging and equity (DIBE) by ensuring that all staff feel represented, valued, and heard across all aspects of their identity, including gender, age, religion, ethnicity, nationality, race, and sexuality.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education such as acquiring a university degree in a relevant discipline is required
- Proven expertise in digital marketing, including web conversion drivers, search marketing (SEO/SEM), online advertising, and mobile marketing.
- Strong understanding of the donor journey and ability to translate business strategy into personalized digital experiences using A/B testing and optimization techniques.
- Deep knowledge of paid media and digital campaign performance.
- Experience with marketing technology, eCommerce, personalization tools, CMS platforms, and web testing.
- Proficiency in analytics tools to drive data-informed decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to examine digital trends and apply insights to improve traffic, conversions, and ROI.
- Experience managing digital agencies and freelancers to ensure strategic alignment.
- Proven influential experience in building and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Ability to identify process efficiencies and streamline digital fundraising operations.
- Budget management and financial forecasting experience in digital contexts.
- English is required, French/Bilingualism (French /English) is an asset due to the organization’s nationwide operations.[MM4]
- Knowledge of the Canadian not-for-profit sector is an asset
