About the role

Posting Overview:

This is an internal/external posting. First preference will be given to qualified permanent L.K.D.S.B. secondary teachers.

The following Permanent vacancy is available for September 2025:

G.L.S.S. - 1.0 - Sr. Family Studies/General Studies Visual Art

Qualifications/Experience:

• Ontario College of Teachers Certificate of Qualification in the respective Division and subject area;

  • experience in stated assignment is preferred;

  • Special Education qualifications are required for ABLE/Resource/Intensive Services positions;

  • Special Education qualifications are preferred for positions at A.M.S.S.;

  • French qualifications and fluency in French Immersion is required for French Immersion positions;

  • Guidance Part 1 is required for Guidance positions;

  • Co-Op Part 1 is required for Co-Op positions;

  • Special Education Part 1 is required for Student Success positions;

  • Special Education Part 1 is required for ALLP positions;

  • experience with committee work including Literacy, MDT team, and safe schools is an asset for Student Success positions;

  • knowledge of current curriculum directions;

  • excellent communication skills in order to effectively interact with students, parents and staff;

  • positive interaction as part of the school team;

  • consistent and fair classroom management;

  • working with youth in a variety of settings;

  • working with indigenous young people is an asset;

  • electronic report card experience is an asset;

  • computer skills are an asset.
