POSITION/TITLE: Immersion Teacher Aide
NATURE & SCOPE OF WORK:
The Immersion Teacher Aide will provide one on one and small group instruction in the Secwepemc immersion program. The Immersion Teacher Aide will work under the direction of the classroom teachers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITES:
- Provide one on one and small group instruction
- Provide supervision and care of children at the school;
- Assist in lesson planning, gathering appropriate learning resources and clean up;
- Reliability and dependability;
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment;
- Physically able to perform responsibilities of the position
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Adequate comprehension, reading, writing and speaking of Secwepemctsin in order to carry out duties in an immersion setting
- Emergency Child Safe/First Aid certificate (would be an asset)
- Experience with working with children
BONAFIDE OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Current and Acceptable Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector clearance - with results acceptable to ALIB
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Start Date: August 25, 2025 – June 19, 2026
Wage offered will be $ 23.69 to $25.49 per hour (depending on certification)
Hours per week: up to 50 hours biweekly
