Organizational Change Management (OCM) is a critical enabler of this transformation, helping us achieve business outcomes, sustain innovation, and build a resilient and future-ready workforce.

We are seeking a Director, Organizational Change Management to lead the enterprise-wide evolution of how we plan, scale, and embed change. Reporting to the Senior Vice President & Chief People Officer, this role will shape the vision, structure, and maturity of Alberta Blue Cross’s® OCM function—ensuring the people side of transformation is championed at every stage of strategic execution.

You are a strategic thinker with deep expertise in transformational change, a proven ability to influence and coach senior leaders, and a passion for building organizational capability. You are not just a practitioner—you are a systems thinker who elevates change from project support to a business-critical competency.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

As the Director, Organizational Change Management, you will:

  • Lead enterprise change strategy. Define and evolve our enterprise OCM operating model, aligning structure, governance, tools, and methodology with corporate priorities and portfolio delivery needs.
  • Partner with executive leaders. Serve as a strategic advisor to the executive and portfolio leadership teams, identifying the change implications of strategic initiatives and shaping change strategies that drive adoption and minimize disruption.
  • Build organizational capability. Design and scale OCM frameworks, playbooks, tools, and coaching approaches that can be embedded across project teams, functional areas, and people leaders.
  • Ensure excellence in execution. Provide oversight and mentorship to a team of OCM professionals, ensuring high-quality delivery of change readiness, communications, stakeholder engagement, and learning strategies.
  • Measure impact. Define and monitor change performance metrics to evaluate organizational readiness, stakeholder adoption, and the long-term sustainment of change outcomes.
  • Build a centre of expertise. Champion best practices, lead capability-building efforts across the organization, and steward Alberta Blue Cross’s position as a change-enabled organization.

WHAT YOU WILL HAVE:

  • A relevant degree in Organizational Development, Business, Communications, Human Resources, or related field.

  • Prosci® certification required; CCMP® designation or advanced education in change leadership preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ senior-level experience in Organizational Change Management leading enterprise change portfolios or transformational initiatives.

  • Demonstrated success leading teams, influencing executive stakeholders, and delivering complex change across a matrixed environment.

  • Deep experience integrating change management into project and portfolio governance, with familiarity in Agile and traditional delivery models.

  • Strong understanding of the dynamics of organizational culture, learning, leadership, and communications.

  • Experience in the healthcare or insurance sector is an asset.

  • Solid ability to be a collaborative and influential leader who:

    • Inspires trust and credibility with executives and front-line teams alike.
    • Navigates complexity with calm, clarity, and strategic foresight.
    • Is energized by ambiguity and motivated to bring structure to the evolving.
    • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal, coaching, and facilitation skills.
    • Believes in change as a people journey—not just a process—and can build systems to support both.
